• you in order to find a pestle that would be an extension of his hand and respond when needed, whatever the situation he finds himself in. Together, we designed a pestle that features a unique combination of weight, diameter, and length. We first select our heaviest hickory dowels, then crush them to a medium diameter.
• 0.550" taper. The dowels are then cut to a length of 16.5 inches and have a long taper to counteract the heavy weight. This creates an overall balance, and the end result is a fast stick that plays light enough for small, intimate venues, but has the necessary weight to support louder gigs when needed.
