With its Alnico V magnets and narrow-aperture coils, the EMG 85 is a powerful pickup with exceptional tone and extreme versatility. The magnets produce a muscular growl and lead tones that let you play without compromise, whether you are into blues or extreme metal. Often used in the neck position, the EMG 85 also performs very well in the bridge position thanks to its distinctive character.

With EMG’s solderless installation technology, there is no need to know how to use a soldering iron to install your pickups—it’s easy to do, even at home!
