It is obvious that a microphone is the best technology for capturing the sound of an acoustic guitar.
For this reason, the Anthem, which combines a microphone with an under-saddle piezo pickup, was a true breakthrough in the world of acoustic amplification.
With the Lyric, LR Baggs takes this approach even further by offering an acoustic guitar microphone that works entirely on its own. The Lyric is like a studio microphone inside your guitar.
Highly resistant to feedback, it is attached beneath the saddle with adhesive, so no modifications to the instrument are required.
To achieve this technical feat, LR Baggs designed an ultra-lightweight microphone that, when properly positioned, enhances the pressure-zone principle to capture the instrument’s entire tonal spectrum while rejecting unwanted internal reflections.
This technology allows the microphone to act from inside the guitar as though it were positioned in front of it.
As for the preamp, the Lyric also benefits from the latest advances in analog dynamic processing. Developed by engineer Tommy Linn, this preamp adjusts the primary signal captured by the microphone to preserve the bass and attack.
This prevents the sound from becoming harsh during hard picking.
The control unit located on the edge of the soundhole features volume and presence controls.
