Tip: The hoops determine the outer diameter of the drumhead; the crown diameter specification refers to the diameter at the beveled edge. With the same drum size, LP bongo drumheads have the same outer diameter regardless of the hoop type. The indicated drumhead sizes correspond to the crown diameter (for bongos and djembe, the largest drum diameter). This is a measure to harmonize size specifications with REMO and LP congas. For LP bongos, following the manufacturer's instructions, use 5 1/4", 7" and 8.5" drumheads for 5 1/2", 7 1/4" and 8 5/8" respectively.
