The Meinl "Vertical Suboofer" Cajon is made of MDF for the body and Makah wood.
• Burl wood for the front panel. Unlike traditional cajons, the sound vents are two in number and placed vertically on the corners. A very specific internal architecture helps to develop the sound. This results in improved projection of low notes, particularly desirable for unamplified acoustic live situations. The fixed internal timbre provides a very sharp sound and improves the strikes in the corners. The result is stunning. A cajon with generous bass that contrasts wonderfully with the high-pitched strikes.
