Overview: This distortion pedal, inspired by the RAT and RAT2, retains their character while allowing you to generate heavier distortion, thanks to its greater gain reserve.
It doubles the maximum output level of the original RAT.
Operating in mono, the Turbo RAT has a 6.35 mm jack input and output, as well as a mini-jack input for optional external power.
The pedal can also be powered by a 9V battery, accessible via a compartment secured with a thumbscrew.
It was released in 1988 and is still manufactured today.
Sonically, it produces more aggressive tones, providing hard clipping for a more compressed signal than the other RAT models, along with a brighter sound.
Like all RAT pedals, it features true bypass and is made in the USA.
