The PRS SE Custom 24 Semi-Hollow Piezo is a highly sophisticated and incredibly versatile instrument. The Custom 24, PRS's original model first introduced in 1985, is a solid-body guitar with a maple top, mahogany back, two humbuckers, and the patented PRS tremolo. This semi-hollow version provides natural resonance and a vibrant, organic sound.

The humbucker pickups on this model are PRS 85/15 “S”, which can be split via the push/pull tone control for even more sounds. The addition of the LR Baggs/PRS Piezo system enhances the instrument's versatility by offering electric and acoustic sounds in one guitar. The PRS SE Custom 24 Semi-Hollow Piezo is designed with two distinct volume controls (magnetic and piezo) and two jack outputs (Mix/Piezo and magnetic). Musicians can plug into the Mix/Piezo output and use the individual volume controls to blend the 58/15 LT 'S' pickups with the piezo's acoustic sounds. It is also possible to use the jack outputs separately, with the magnetic pickups plugged into an amp and the piezo connected to an acoustic amp or a DI into the mixer. When using the magnetic output in isolation, the piezo battery is completely bypassed, which provides a safety net (in this scenario, the magnetic pickups continue to work even if the piezo battery is flat).
