Meinl Sonic Energy "White gongs" are handcrafted in the People's Republic of China from a bronze alloy. They are also called "double light" gongs because both sides of the gong have a shiny surface. The "white gongs" have a flat surface bordered by a taut rim to produce a clear, splashy sound with a medium sustain. Each gong comes with a matching mallet.
