Our UA Bock 187 improves on this classic design with a larger transformer, a redesigned circuit, and an original “Fat” mode that boosts frequencies between 10 Hz and 400 Hz. The result is increased dynamic range and presence, along with a warmer sound when recording vocals, guitars, and other instruments.

With the UA Bock 187, David Bock revisits the legendary U87 microphones that he analyzed and repaired during the two decades he spent in some of the world’s most famous recording studios as chief technical engineer.
