  • Often called Custom Light, the EJ26 strings are an original hybrid gauge offered by D'Addario. They represent a satisfying compromise for players who seek the depth and projection of low-gauge strings while having a lower tension on the high strings for easier bends. Phosphor bronze was introduced into string making in 1974 by D'Addario, and has since become synonymous with warmth, brilliance, and balance in sound. D'Addario phosphor bronze strings are finely wound with corrosion-resistant phosphor bronze on a high-carbon steel hexagonal core. The result is a bright, long-lasting sound with excellent intonation.
